Financial reports
Financial reports give you an aggregated view of messaging costs across all your channels in one consistent structure. Compare spend across channels, identify cost drivers, and align your reporting with Infobip invoicing.
Use financial reports when you need to:
- Analyze costs by account, channel, sender, or country
- Report spending trends to stakeholders
- Support budgeting and forecasting
- Break down costs per customer or use case using multitenant application and entity dimensions
For message-level delivery data, use Detailed reports or Communication reports instead. For aggregated performance metrics, use the Delivery and traffic performance report.
For programmatic access to the same billing data, see Billing Usage API.
Access and availability
Financial reports require the Finance Manager or Account Manager role. See account settings for role management.
With this role, you can view financial data for your account, related sub-accounts, and all accounts under your company. If you log in as a sub-account, you see only your own account data. For details, see Account hierarchy and visibility.
Coverage
Financial reports cover the following channels and services:
For channels not listed above, contact your account manager to discuss alternative reporting approaches.
Scheduling and data finalization [#scheduling-and-data-finalization]
Financial report data follows a monthly cycle. Current month data is provisional and recurring reports deliver only finalized data.
- Data finalization: Current month totals may change due to late-arriving traffic records, retroactive volume discounts, and pricing adjustments. All data for a given month is finalized by the 5th of the following month, when the invoice is issued. Always verify report totals against your monthly invoice before using them for financial planning or billing.
- Recurring schedule: Monthly only. Recurring reports include finalized data for the previous month and are available in the Financial reports list on the portal.
For retention period, timezone, multi-data center behavior, and finalization details, see Data scope and finalization in the Billing data reference.
Report structure and grouping logic
When you create a financial report, you define how data is grouped and categorized. Your report is structured as a table. Dimensions determine what each column represents: together they define how costs are broken down into rows.
By default, the following dimensions are included:
- Account: Infobip account name
- Category: Primary channel or service, for example, SMS, WhatsApp, Email
You can optionally include additional dimensions:
- Sender
- Country
- Network
- Application (CPaaS X clients)
- Entity (CPaaS X clients)
- Campaign
Depending on the selected dimension and channels, the following sub-dimensions may be automatically added. They will appear directly after their parent dimension:
- Direction
- Traffic type
- Sender type
- Billing time unit (auto-added when Voice and Video is selected)
- Subcategory (auto-added when Voice and Video is selected). Voice and Video subcategories are grouped into Technologies and Add-ons. Flash Calls is a subcategory in its own right.
You can also include optional enrichments for additional context (they do not affect your column structure or replace your selected breakdowns):
- Country prefix
- Norm net code
At the end of every financial report, the following metrics are always included (they are not selectable):
- Quantity
- Unit
- Unit price
- Total per unit
- Currency
For complete field and dimension definitions, see Billing data reference.

| Filter | Description |

| Username | User who initiated traffic |

Report generation runs in the background. The report status changes to Ready when generation is complete. If you configured email delivery in the Options section, recipients receive a download link by email.
Find your report in the Financial reports list. Reports move through Pending → Ready → Expired (72 hours after generation). Ready reports show a Download button. To access additional actions, select the three-dot menu next to a report:
- View details: Opens the report detail panel with three tabs:
- Overview: Report type, occurrence, date range, who requested it, and when it was generated
- Configuration: Dimensions and metrics included in the report
- Export details: File format, external server configuration, and direct download link status
- Duplicate: Creates a new report with the same configuration. Use this to re-run an expired or failed report, or create a variation without rebuilding settings.
- Delete: Permanently deletes the report
For full status definitions and what to do when a report fails or expires, see Manage reports.
