Behavioral analytics
AVAILABLE ON REQUEST
In Behavioral analytics, you can create and edit custom reports for:
- Event segmentation
- Funnel analytics
Use reports as a saved combination of settings to get insights on precisely defined segments of your audiences.
Manage reports
In the Behavioral analytics tab, you can:
- Search reports - Use the search bar to find reports by name
- Create reports - Select New report and choose:
- Event segmentation - Analyze audience behavior with event data
- Funnel analytics - Track conversion through event sequences
- View by type - Switch between tabs:
- All - View all reports
- Event segmentation - View only Event segmentation reports
- Funnel analytics - View only Funnel analytics reports
- Manage reports - Select the three-dots menu to duplicate or delete reports
Event segmentation
Event segmentation analytics provides insights into audience behavior. It combines segments, events, and data visualization.
Event segmentation has three core components:
- Segments - Select audience segments to analyze
- Events - Choose events to display on the graph
- Visualization - View event data in chart format
Select segments
Audience segmentation lets you understand how different groups interact with your app or website. Segments are based on person custom attributes - data related to each end user.
To add segments:
- Select Add segment.
- Choose from existing segments or create a new segment.
- Add up to four segments to your report.
Select events
Events reflect user actions. Event segmentation analytics can display up to four different events on the user activity graph.
To add events:
- Scroll to Select events to be shown on graph.
- Select the events you want to include.
- Optionally, select + PROPERTY to add event properties for more detailed filtering.
For example, for a Song Played event, you can add properties like genre or song name to see how many times people listened to specific genres or songs.
Visualize data
After specifying segments and events:
- Select a time period:
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days
- This week
- Previous week
- Custom range
- Choose the data granularity (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Select Render graph.
The data appears as a line graph showing event trends over time.
Metrics
Four metric types are available in Event segmentation:
| Metric type | Description |
|---|---|
| Events | Shows the number of selected events that happened on a specific date. Use these metrics to understand whether user activity aligns with your product goals. |
| People | Shows how many people performed specific actions within different time frames. These metrics reveal unique user counts for specific actions. |
| Adoption | Reveals whether your audience or specific segments use certain parts of your app functionality. Use these metrics with segments based on registration date for best results. For example, select people who registered in a specific month and check adoption for the following months. This prevents incorrect information from including new users who could not perform actions before registration. |
| Engagement | Shows how many actions are generated by one person on average. Engagement metrics help you understand if there is growth or decline in user engagement. Like Adoption, segment by registration date to avoid including new users who could not have performed actions before registration. |
Funnel analytics
Funnel analytics tracks a sequence of user actions on your website or mobile app, showing how different audience segments progress through defined steps.
Use Funnel analytics to understand conversion rates and identify drop-off points in customer journeys.
Configure funnel
To set up Funnel analytics:
- Select segments - Choose audience segments or use the whole audience (up to two segments)
- Define event sequence - Select up to seven events that represent your funnel steps
- Set conversion window - Specify the timeframe for completing the funnel
- Choose calculation period - Select the timeframe for funnel calculation
Conversion window
The conversion window defines how much time can pass between the first and last step in the funnel.
For example, set a 15-minute conversion window for a Registration → Watch Video → Payment sequence.
If all steps are not completed within 15 minutes, the funnel shows a drop-off.
Calculate funnel
To record one unique person within the given timeframe and conversion window, the whole funnel must complete at least once without drop-offs.
If a person enters the funnel multiple times but completes it successfully at least once, this counts as a success and other entries are disregarded.
To generate the funnel:
- Select Render graph.
- View the data breakdown for both people and events.
The funnel graph shows conversion rates at each step and identifies where users drop off.
Table view and tags
The funnel graph information can also be shown in table view, displaying exact numbers and percentages. The values in the segment columns show the number of people that arrived at a specific step from the previous one.
In the table view, you can add a tag to a group of people from the funnel for future communications or analytics:
- Hover over the exact number in the table.
- Select the tag icon that appears.
- Select an existing tag or create a new one.
Tagging helps you select specific groups of people from the funnel for targeted communication or further analysis.
Save reports
Event segmentation and Funnel analytics reports can be saved and reused to track events and customer conversion over time. Saved reports help you plan and prepare for future campaigns.
You can:
- View all saved reports together or filter by type (Event segmentation or Funnel analytics)
- Duplicate and reuse reports instead of building new ones
- Delete reports you no longer need
