Build for the Infobip ecosystem
Offer your product to customers in the Infobip ecosystem by building an Exchange app or an integration that connects it to Infobip. To see the apps and integrations customers can use today, see Guides, integrations, and apps.
Choose an Exchange app, an integration, or both
An Exchange app extends Infobip. An integration extends your own product with Infobip channels built in. Choose based on where your users work most: if they work mainly in Infobip, build an Exchange app; if they work mainly in your product, build an integration. If your product needs both, you can build both. Both paths start with becoming a partner(opens in new tab).
The two paths differ in these ways:
| Exchange app | Integration | |
|---|---|---|
| Extends | Infobip products | Your own product |
| Your users work in | Infobip, for example in Chatbots, Inbox, or Journeys | Your product |
| What you build | An app on Infobip integration points, such as Bot blocks, context cards, data syncs, or Journey elements, with a manifest and your own endpoints | Infobip channels in the interface of your product, sending through the Infobip channel APIs |
| How you build | With the public Infobip products and APIs, then publish through the Infobip review process | With the Infobip channel APIs |
| Where customers find it | partners.infobip.com, the Exchange Marketplace, and the Infobip web interface | partners.infobip.com, the integrations catalog, and a listing in the Infobip web interface |
| Where customers turn it on | In the Exchange Marketplace, in the web interface | In your product. The listing in the Infobip web interface is for discovery only. |
What you can build
Most products connect to Infobip in one of these ways.
Sync data with Infobip
Send customer or event data from your product to Infobip Customer Profiles, where you can use it in journeys, chatbots, and the agent workspace. Use this when customers run messaging in Infobip but keep their customer data in an external CRM or CDP.
The example and the path to use:
- Example: Shopify contact and event sync
- Path: Exchange app
Add your app to journeys, chatbots, or Inbox
Add your app to an Infobip journey, chatbot, or agent conversation in Inbox. For example, add a payment link to a chatbot, an address validator to a journey, or a context card for agents.
The examples and the path to use:
- Examples: Stripe payment link, Jira context card
- Path: Exchange app
Add Infobip messaging to your product
Show Infobip channels inside your product, so your users can send messages on SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, Viber, Email, Voice, or Apple Messages for Business without leaving it. Your product is where your users work, and Infobip provides the channels.
The example and the path to use:
- Example: Salesforce Marketing Cloud messaging
- Path: Integration
Combine paths in one product
One product can use more than one of these. For example, HubSpot can use:
- HubSpot messaging, as an integration that sends messages.
- A Chatbots Exchange app that handles part of a conversation.
- A HubSpot data sync, as an Exchange app that keeps Customer Profiles up to date with HubSpot contacts.
Each part follows its own path, as an Exchange app or an integration.
What the ecosystem provides
When you build for the ecosystem, Infobip provides:
- Discovery: Infobip customers can find your app or integration and turn it on.
- Channels: An integration gives your users Infobip channels such as SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, Viber, Email, Voice, and Apple Messages for Business.
- Channel infrastructure: Infobip operates the channel connections, so you do not build or maintain them yourself.
