Billing and usage
Check your balance, add money to it, set up automatic payments, and manage your plans, invoices, and billing address.
To open Billing and usage:
- Select the Billing and pricing icon in the web interface header.
- Select Billing and usage.
Your balance appears first on the page. The tabs depend on how your account is billed:
- Prepaid account: Four tabs: Payments, Active plans and channels (Active plans on some accounts), Invoices, and Billing address.
- Postpaid account: Only the Invoices tab.
Prepaid and postpaid accounts
An account is billed in one of two ways:
- Prepaid: You add funds to your balance, and your usage is charged against it. Self-signup accounts are prepaid.
- Postpaid: You receive an invoice afterward for what you used. Your balance shows the amount you owe.
If your account was set up by an account manager, it can be prepaid or postpaid, depending on your agreed billing terms. Contact your account manager with questions about your billing terms or billing across sub-accounts. The steps for upgrading, adding funds, and setting up automatic payments apply only to prepaid accounts.
Upgrade to a paying account
On a self-signup account, add funds to your balance. Adding funds ends the free trial and moves your whole account to a paying account. For what changes after the trial, see Continue after the trial.
Add funds and set up payments
Add funds to your balance and set up automatic payments on the Payments tab or the Fund your account page. Before your first payment, the Billing details page opens. Select Individual or Company, enter your contact and billing information, and select Submit. The platform calculates tax based on these details, so make sure they are correct. A billing address is required for all payment methods. To update your details later, see Billing address tab.
Choose how to add funds
You can add funds in these ways:
To see the options available for your account in one place, select + Add funds in the Billing and pricing menu. The Fund your account page opens. You can combine Low balance recharge with other payment options. For example, make a one-time payment or set up automatic recharges, and enable low balance recharge as well. If your balance falls below the minimum between payments, it is refilled automatically. Available payment options and methods depend on your country and region.
Make a one-time payment
To make a one-time payment from the Payments tab:
- Under Add money to balance, select Add funds.
- On the One-time payment page, check your billing address. To change it, select Edit.
- Under Payment details, enter the amount, or select a preset amount, and choose the currency.
- Under Payment method, select a payment method, such as a card or PayPal. To pay by wire transfer, see Pay by wire transfer.
- Check the Transaction summary, which shows the amount, VAT or tax, the total, and the amount added to your balance. Then select Pay.
After the payment, you receive a confirmation. For card payments, the platform charges your card immediately. If your card supports 3-D Secure, you might be redirected to the card issuer website to authorize the payment. For PayPal, you are redirected to PayPal to pay, and then back to the web interface. The platform does not store your card data.
Pay by wire transfer
To pay by wire transfer, generate a payment offer in the web interface, and pay it through your bank. Then upload the payment confirmation in the web interface.
Redeem a promo code
If you received a promo code, redeem it to add its amount to your balance:
- On the Payments tab, under Promo code, select Select next to Redeem a promo code.
- On the Redeem code page, check your billing address. To change it, select Edit.
- Under Coupon details, enter the code, and select Submit.
The amount is added to your balance automatically. If neither the Payments tab nor the Fund your account page shows Promo code, the option is not available for your account.
Set up automatic payments
If your Payments tab shows Automatic payments, select Set up next to one of these options:
- Refill on a specific day (Auto recharge on the Fund your account page): Adds the amount you set on a schedule. Choose every month, every three months, or every year. After activation, the next charge date is shown.
- Refill when you run out of funds (Low balance recharge on the Fund your account page): Refills your balance when it is low. Set the Minimum balance that triggers a payment, and the Refill amount to add. The platform then charges your card each time your balance falls below the minimum.
For both options, enter your card details, and select Pay. The platform charges your card for the amount immediately, and you receive a confirmation.
Active plans and channels tab
The Active plans and channels tab shows your products, services, and communication channels. For each, it shows monthly recurring fees, upcoming scheduled payments, estimated pay-as-you-go usage, and plan overages. It also shows the number of active agents and sessions. On this tab, you can upgrade or cancel active plans, and change your support package.
Invoices tab
The Invoices tab is available on prepaid and postpaid accounts, to users with the Account admin or Finance manager role. It lists your invoices.
To view an invoice, select it. To download it, select Download.
Billing address tab
On the Billing address tab, check and update your billing details: your name or company name, address, postal code, and city. You cannot change the country, the region, or the VAT or tax ID after you save them.
