Request resources through web interface
Use the Infobip web interface to request communication resources for your channels. The web interface guides you through each step, from enabling a channel to purchasing numbers and registering senders.
The request workflow depends on the channel and resource type. Some resources are available immediately after purchase, while others require Infobip review and approval.
Follow the steps on this page to enable your channel, select the resource type you need, and complete the appropriate workflow: direct configuration, multi-step registration, or request approval.
Prerequisites
You need:
- Active Infobip account
- Completion of Resources and Numbers overview
- Clear understanding of your resource needs
Channel enablement
Your account is either self-signup (automatic channels) or managed (request enablement through My requests, your CSM, or solution engineer).
After channel enablement, configuration and messaging steps are identical for both account types.
Submit a request through My requests [#submit-a-request-through-my-requests-channel-enablement]
Enable your channel. For SMS/MMS, contact Support. For other channels, use the procedure below.
When you request channel enablement, use one of these paths:
Go to Channels and numbers > Channels > Available channels tab and select Request channel, or go to Channels and numbers > My requests > Channels request tab and select Request channel.
Select the channel you want to enable from the drop-down list.
Fill in required information (business use case, message volume, and compliance details as applicable).
Select Submit.
Infobip reviews and activates the channel (typically 1-5 business days).
Channel enablement specifics
For WhatsApp, Email, Voice, Apple Messages for Business, Telegram, Instagram:
- Once enabled, you can configure senders directly without submitting additional requests to Infobip.
- After enablement, proceed to Configure senders in Channels and numbers or Multi-step workflows: WhatsApp and RCS to complete setup.
For RCS, Viber, Zalo, LINE, KakaoTalk:
- Channel enablement request form collects information for both channel activation and first sender registration in a single submission.
- Infobip team contacts you by email about missing or incorrect data.
- Your channel and first sender are activated once complete.
Request a resource for your channel
Once your channel is enabled, choose the workflow that matches your resource type:
Direct configuration (no additional requests needed)
- Buy and manage phone numbers: Phone numbers for SMS, MMS, or Voice
- Configure senders in Channels and numbers: Email, Voice, Apple Messages for Business, Telegram, or Instagram senders
Multi-phase workflows (require multiple steps)
- Multi-step workflows: WhatsApp and RCS: WhatsApp or RCS messaging
- Request senders through Infobip My requests: Alphanumeric SMS, Viber, Zalo, LINE, or KakaoTalk senders
Buy and manage phone numbers
Phone numbers are provisioned separately from channel enablement. You must enable both the number and the channel to use them.

See USA Sender Registration for complete, number-type-specific purchase and registration workflows:
Other regions and number types [#other-regions-and-number-types-buy-and-manage-phone-numbers]
Manage numbers through Channels and numbers or Resource Management API. Configure inbound routing (keywords, actions), voice features (CNAM, E911), and other settings.
See How to buy numbers for global phone number options.
| Channels | Number type | How to obtain | How to manage |
|---|---|---|---|

WhatsApp numbers are handled through the multi-step workflows section below, as they require additional configuration after purchase. The legacy Numbers API for purchasing and managing numbers has been deprecated in favor of Resource Request API (for acquiring) and Resource Management API (for managing inbound configuration).
Configure senders in Channels and numbers
After channel enablement (Step 1), configure your senders directly in the Channels and numbers application or dedicated channel platform (Step 2). No additional Infobip request needed.
This applies to channels that required enablement submission (WhatsApp, Email, Voice, Apple Messages for Business, Telegram, Instagram).

Request senders through Infobip My requests
When first enabling these channels, channel enablement and sender request are combined into a single Infobip request. Subsequent requests for additional capabilities or senders are submitted as separate requests.

|---|---|---|
| SMS | Submit alphanumeric sender request through My requests in Channels and numbers or Resource Request API | Alphanumeric senders are ready to use once approved |
| Viber | Submit request for specific capability (Viber Bot or Viber BM) through My requests in Channels and numbers or through dedicated Viber app | Manage sender in the dedicated Viber app or Resource Management API (inbound configuration) |
| Zalo | Submit request for specific capability (ZBM) through My requests in Channels and numbers or through dedicated Zalo app | Manage sender in the dedicated Zalo app or Resource Management API (inbound configuration) |
| LINE | Submit request for specific capability (LINE OA or LINE ON) through My requests in Channels and numbers or through dedicated LINE app | Manage sender in the dedicated LINE app or Resource Management API (inbound configuration) |
