Network connectivity troubleshooting

Use this page when you cannot reach an Infobip endpoint from your system, and the problem is in your own network path to Infobip. If the problem is elsewhere, start with:

Diagnose your connection

If you cannot connect to any of the Infobip IP addresses, first check the networking layer between your terminating equipment and Infobip equipment. Then do the following:

  1. Use ping and telnet to test the connection.
  2. Run traceroute (Linux, macOS) or tracert (Windows) to the Infobip host to see where the connection stops.
  3. Always test from the source addresses you use to access Infobip services, not from a different machine or network.
  4. Make sure the source IP address is in your safelist on your side.

SMPP endpoints do not respond to ping. Use telnet against the SMPP host and port instead. For the SMPP hosts and ports, see the SMPP reference.

If the problem is not on the networking layer and your configuration is correct, gather your ping and traceroute results and source IP address. Then contact Support for help with the investigation.
