# Getting started with KakaoTalk

Before you can start using KakaoTalk for business communication, you must first open a KakaoTalk channel or connect to an existing one. Follow this getting started guide for more information on how to proceed.

## Open a channel

1. Open a Kakao business account on the [Kakao Business web interface](https://accounts.kakao.com/login?continue=https%3A%2F%2Faccounts.kakao.com%2Fweblogin%2Faccount%2Finfo). You need the following documentation to enable Kakao:
    - Korean Company Business License Certificate
    - ID of the CEO or of the representative who would fill out the application documentation

2. Create a channel.
    - You can create up to 10 channels on a Kakao business account.
    - You must create separate channels to enable Kakao one-way services and Kakao two-way services.
    - You must set all channels as public and searchable under profile settings.
    - For two-way services, also set the channel to allow 1:1 chat.

3. Get the channel verified by Kakao Corp. The verification process may take 3 to 5 days. You may need to fill out more questions about the business industry, if applicable.
