# Conversations over API

The **Conversations API** is a cross-channel communication platform that enables businesses to interact with customers through a single, unified API.

It allows you to integrate selected [Conversations features](https://www.infobip.com/docs/conversations#features) into your own systems and workflows based on your business needs.

## What you can build with Conversations API

You can use the Conversations API to create custom solutions such as:

- **Admin dashboards**
- **Agent communication interfaces**
- **Custom waiting strategies**
- **Integrations with external bots** (welcome bot, mid-conversation bot, closing/satisfaction bot)

## Core capabilities

The Conversations HTTP API supports:

- **Conversation threading**
- **Cross-channel messaging**
- **Agent, queue, and routing management**
- **Call center features**

You can choose to use only conversation threading, or combine it with agent and routing management if your use case requires it.
